I have recently noticed just how much of an impact Harry Potter has over my life. I asked someone if they were in cruciating pain. It NOT ONCE occurred to me that the actual word was EXcruciating. I was even asked if I had really meant to say cruciating. Even then it still did not occur to me that it was wrong.
